DJ, music lover, Essence Ablack hails out of Richmond, Va. When not performing, I spend my time perfecting my skills. Having an upbringing in a very musically-influenced home inspired me to start my career as a DJ. I’ve DJed at Clubs, bars, cookouts, and social events etc. I’ve worked alongside some of the top Djs in Richmond. For me, it’s all about setting the mood and playing those tracks that get you out of your seat and nodding your head without you realizing it, regardless of genre, tempo, style, don’t be surprised when you suddenly find yourself on the dance floor. DJ EMP LOVE
DJEMPLove or more commonly called by friends and cohorts “EMP commemorates 2019 as 20 years of living a sometimes surreal dream. DJ, Radio personality, Host, Promoter, Mother, Friend, Daughter and Healthcare Clinician are just the few accomplishments and that she’s very proud of. However, her greatest joy is: “Quite simply aiming to give and receive love and light in all things. Play some really good music. Enjoy this beloved life invested in me. Be the best version of me reminding those through my genuine nature that I’m not trying to become popular, I just want to become a classic.-I think Marie Forleo said it best, “The measure of a great life is whether it matches your dreams.” So far, so good.- I’m looking forward to keeping this beat going with my fellow female DJs for many more years to come! Love you chicas! “ #myturnradio #femalesarethefuture #djemploveit

2013 was a monumental year for entrepreneur, model and entertainer Joyann Skeete. It was the year she introduced herself as DJ Diamond to the World. Hailing from the beautiful island of Barbados she always had a passion for music from a very young and tender age. A future mogul and top performer, she is on her way to becoming a very successful entrepreneur and popular female DJ on the music scene. Her flow of energy and familiarity with the dance floor stems from her past dance experience.
Her first big break came in 2007, when she began touring extensively through the Caribbean and the United States as a dancer with Soca Queen Alison Hinds. “I love performing. There is this moment, where you get nervous while preparing backstage; but the second you get on stage and those bright lights hit you, those nerves explode into pure energy.”

DJ ROOTS QUEEN
Don’t let the pretty face fool you. Dj RootsQueen is a skilled turntablist, producer, strip club dj, radio show host, and selecta based out of Atlanta, Ga. As Konkrete Jungle Alumnus, she first toured in the South East under the Alias “Dj Manga”.
As Drum and Bass started to fade, she became obsessed with Dub Music and toured the East Coast with reggae bands such as One Drop, Rocksteady @8 and Third World. A band member dubbed her “RootsQueen” one night at a show, and it stuck. In 2006, She became Dinco D’s (Leaders Of The New School) tour dj. While gigging in Florida, she asked to join the Reggae Sound System in her hometown, Poison Dart International Sound. They said yes and she has been a member ever since, thus plugging her name into the forefront amongst the West Indian Dj community.
